A woman has been killed and a man taken to hospital after a double stabbing in the west London.
The 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene on Uxbridge Road in Hayes this morning.
Emergency services were called at around 7.55am this morning and also found a man in his twenties outside with stab wounds.
The Met said they “quickly” located a 44-year-old man nearby who matched the suspect’s description.
He had injuries ‘believed to have been caused by jumping from the window’ and was taken to hospital.
The man was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a knife in a public place.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo of the Met said: “This is a shocking incident which has tragically resulted in a woman losing her life and another man in hospital with injuries.
“Our thoughts at this time are with the victims and their loved ones, who are being supported by specialist officers.”
He said there was not thought to be any wider threat to the public, but said locals could expect to see more police in the area over the coming days.
