The pathologist’s report is in: Theo Silverton(James Cartwright’s) death was not caused by a fall from the scaffolding at the height of Coronation Street murder week; was deliberately hit in the head.

Weatherfield’s premier police position, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and The Green Kit (Jacob Roberts), received the news on Monday’s (May 4) episode, with Kit outraged at the possibility that Lisa would ever think what happened was an accident.

On a glossy montage that saw Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) throw flowers at Theo’s death scene, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) reading an online article about death, Gary Windass (Mikey North) watching dash cam footage of him taking a sledgehammer to Theo’s van and The wizard of wine (Harriet Bibby) reading a page of her diary with the words “Theo is a monster”, Lisa and Kit wondered if Todd’s loved ones might have done the deed.

As the montage cut to Todd, crying in his former apartment while reliving Theo’s most savage and despicable acts, Kit thought that if he had been dehumanized like Todd by a sadist, he would have done the exact same thing, wondering if Todd would have finally fought back.

With the ongoing investigation and questioning, we thought we’d take a closer look at the official suspects.

While each character listed had a motive, who took it a step further and decided to end Theo’s reign of terror for good?

George possesses a true fatherly love for Todd, and it was evident in everything he did and said. he would go to the ends of the earth for itand there it Was the curious case of the altered jumper…

…to bloody replaced the jumper that Christina found later, and that Lisa found her wearing when she visited the funeral parlor. The friendly entrepreneur was the first to be arrested for killing Theo.

He was released the next day, but a mysterious ‘walk’ he took on the night of Theo’s death remains a big question mark.

Did George finally snap and kill Theo to keep Todd safe?

Gary’s protective streak and hatred of bullies previously worked in Theo’s favor when he Sick conversion therapist Noah Hedley (Richard Winsor) in defense of his new friend. However, when that protective belt turned against him, Theo was visibly frightened by Gary’s fury.

As Gary desperately erased the footage of himself smashing Theo’s van, he ended up pulling into the station for an interview with Lisa. Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) came to his rescue, giving him an alibi and a reason for the deleted footage Lisa was looking for.

However, it is clear that Gary is Kit’s number one suspect, and the pictures taken from Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) place Gary firmly at the scene of the crime.

Could Theo’s former best friend have decided to take out another bully?

Summer’s diary, filled with frantic scribblings about Theo, certainly painted him in a certain light.

Are they the ramblings of a girl, heartbroken who has to live with the knowledge that Theo killed one of her foster fathers and shamefully tortured the other?

…or are they signs of a guilty conscience?

Can Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) be included?

Her utter panic over George’s arrest seemed to indicate that she was suspicious of him, as was her concern towards Todd about George’s mysterious ‘walk’.

But was she panicking because she knew he was really innocent, because SHE did he do the deed?

Could she have been driven to step in and deal with the biggest problem in her lover’s life?

Ex-wife scorned? (Photo: Danielle Baguley/ITV)

Danielle went through hell at Theo’s hands when he bonded with Todd and later left him to move in with him.

Her reappearance this week, set to find out if Todd killed her ex-husband, saw her corroborate his experience and claim that she too had been a victim of Theo’s controlling nature, even offering to support Todd as he navigated life without abuse.

But what if it was all a hoax?

With whispers echoing through the streets that hell hath no fury like an ex-wife scorned, could she have finished Theo?

With Todd fearing for his life as Theo stalked him like a cat playing with its food after his escape, could he have decided there was only one way to end the torture?

Todd struggled with grief since Theo’s death, lost in the quagmire of emotions between his love for the human Theo can to be the monster that he really was.

Although his heartache doesn’t immediately lend itself to killing Theo, could Todd actually have taken one final and fatal act to free himself from his tormentor forever?
