Walkers has sold some pretty tasty chips over the years, but there’s one flavor that fans have been desperate to eat again.
For the past five years, Brits have been begging the brand to bring back an icon freshwhich was removed in 2021.
And finally, it seems their prayers have been answered.
Walkers has confirmed that its cooperation with KFC it’s officially back. Here’s everything you need to know…
Walkers is bringing back its popular partnership with KFC, which features two flavours: Walkers MAX KFC Chicken Original and Walkers MAX KFC Zinger patographs.

The Original Chicken is said to ‘perfectly capture’ the peppery, salty and spicy essence of KFC’s famous blend of 11 herbs and spices, while the Zinger has a spicy and savory kick that mimics the ‘zing’ of a KFC staple.
The former will be back for good, as it’s joining the Walkers MAX line as a permanent addition, while the Zinger chips will only be available for a limited time.
Social media users have praised the Kentucky Fried Chicken Fries during their time off the shelves, with a Reddit users hailing them “crack cocaine in fresh form”.
While on X (formerly Twitter), one user said, “I’ll honestly rank them one of the best flavors ever.”
And TikToker @soulfula5 felt similarly, saying Walkers MAX KFC Zinger Fries were “the best thing ever made in the UK… and they just discontinued it like it was nothing”.
In response, Wayne Newton, senior marketing director at Walkers, commented: “We knew the nation was missing the Walkers MAX KFC collaboration following its success in 2021, but we underestimated the sheer scale of the commitment.
“Thankfully, the wait is over and we’re excited to officially confirm the rumours: MAX KFC is back. With the original chicken flavor here to stay and the Zinger back for a limited time, Walkers MAX is giving fans what they’ve been craving.’
Walkers adds that the returning fries promise to deliver the same nostalgic, tangy taste that made them a household staple.
As for when you can expect to see them in stores, nationwide rollout starts next week (week commencing 20 July 2026) and they’ll be landing all over the UK. supermarketsconvenience stores and wholesalers.
To celebrate the return, both flavors will be available in shared and premium packs, while Walkers MAX KFC Original Chicken will also be available in single and retail formats.

Walkers MAX KFC Zinger
This follows KFC’s discovery two brand new burgers joining its UK menu, both with naan bread.
The new Crispy Naan range features a Tandoori Zinger Crispy Naan, which combines one of KFC’s fiery Zinger chicken fillets with a tangy Tandoori sauce, tomato, red onion, lettuce and melted cheese, all sandwiched between two naan breads.
Next is the Creamy Original Crispy Naan, which features a much fresher sour cream and onion sauce, which KFC describes as ‘smooth, sweet, fresh and herby’.
Both burgers will set you back £7.49 each or £9.49 if you want to upgrade it to a meal.
On top of the two new burgers, the chain is also coming out with Tandoori Loaded fries. At £3.99, KFC has combined spiced fries with a large portion of popcorn chicken smothered in both creamy yoghurt and tandoori sauce.
The new items will be placed in restaurants nationwide on July 20, but they will only be available for five weeks before being withdrawn on August 23.
