Peterborough County OPP say that around 6:15 p.m., police responded to reports that an individual had jumped from their motorboat, but that the boat was still moving and circling the lake.
Police say the boatman and an individual in the inflatable were rescued by another person in a personal watercraft and taken to shore.
A witness estimates the boat had been circling the lake for about 20 minutes when it finally tipped over and crashed into a dock at a residence on Poplar Point Road in Selwyn Township. The crash eventually caused the boat’s engine to shut down.
The OPP continues to investigate the incident.
