US-Iran attacks raise tensions as Tehran says Hormuz is closed


Iranian media reported explosions on the country’s southern coast, including the energy and petrochemical centers of Bushehr and Asalouyeh, the port cities of Bandar Abbas and Bandar-e Dayyer, and in the Sirik area near the Strait of Hormuz, a global energy choke point. A communications tower was hit in the southern province of Kerman, injuring two people, according to the Mehr news agency.
