The ecumenical service highlights faith, hope and interfaith harmony in the UAE

A shared expression of faith

The service has been a communal expression of faith, performing various traditions in a single act of worship.

It began with the profession of the Nicene Creed, followed by prayers for peace that included reading the Bible, prayers in various liturgical languages, and the symbolic lighting of candles. The gathering is closed with the Litany of Peace and the exchange of the sign of peace.

Moreover, the gathering has marked the reopening of churches in Dubai and celebrated the joy of revival, adding a sense of renewal and hope to the occasion.

Kudos to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates

Promoted by the Community of Churches of the Gulf, in collaboration with the Office of Interfaith and Ecumenical Dialogue of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia and the Church of Saint Mary, the initiative has highlighted the UAE’s continued commitment to interfaith dialogue.

In addition, Martinelli thanked the United Arab Emirates authorities for guaranteeing security and protection in recent months, reaffirming the prayers of the Christian community for the nation.

“May God hear our common prayer, grant us peace and reconciliation, harmony and prosperity,” said the apostolic vicar.
