The city reported a staggering 4,161 accidents on straight roads, resulting in 766 deaths and 3,463 injuries. Curved road accidents were 415, claiming 87 lives. The potholes caused only two accidents, but killed two people. Roads under construction accounted for 21 accidents, six deaths and 30 injuries, says the ‘Road Accidents in India 2024’ report.
