CBSE said it has introduced on-screen marking (OSM) system to evaluate answer books digitally, aiming to improve accuracy and transparency.

Two-stage post-result review process
CBSE said students who are unhappy with their results can access a structured review system after the results are declared.
Stage 1: Scanned answer book
In Phase 1, students can request scanned copies of their graded answer books. These will be made available through online access and can be downloaded for review.

In Phase 2, students can apply for verification of discrepancies or request re-evaluation of specific answers based on the marking scheme.

Strict application and final decision rules
The board stressed that all applications must be submitted online within the stipulated time limit and only one application per step will be accepted.
It is also clarified that marks may be increased or decreased after revision and in cases of revision, students will be required to return the original mark sheets for issuing updated documents. CBSE added that its decision after revaluation will be final and binding.
The board further noted that the scanned copies of the answer book can also be accessed under the provisions of RTI, though requests for revaluation cannot be made through this route.
