GTA 6 publisher Take-Two Interactive has outlined how many games it will release over the next few years, as the Max Payne remake looks set for 2027.
Take-Two Interactive may be consumed by GTA 6 for now, but there are plenty of other titles on the horizon.
Beyond producing Rockstar, the publisher is known for franchises like Border countriesBioshock, Mafia, XCOM, Sid Meier’s Civilization and sports games like NBA 2K26.
While we know of a few other titles, the publisher has up its sleeve, such as Bioshock 4, Judas (from the creator of Bioshock), and remakes of the first two Max Payne gamesTake-Two’s latest financial report has shed light on other projects it has lined up for the future.
As noted in the company earnings report for Q4 2026Take-Two is set to release three mobile games, eight sports games, three ‘core new IP’ titles and 15 ‘core existing IP’ titles (covering remakes, remakes and ‘platform additions’ known as ports) before April 2029.
For the current fiscal year, which ends in April 2027, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff outlined the company’s plans more specifically. Along with GTA 6 on November 19, Take-Two will launch two mobile titles (one is CSR 3 – Street Car Racing), three sports games in NBA 2K27, PGA Tour 2K27 and WWE 2K27, along with a ‘platformer extension’.

It’s unclear what the latter could be, but a current-gen port Red Dead Redemption 2 has been has been rumored for some time. It is also possible that this could be connected to another type of port, such as GTA 5 on Nintendo Switch 2 or GTA 6 on PC.
Beyond April 2027, Slatoff breaks down the company’s plan even further. It claims Take-Two will release 22 titles during fiscal 2028 and 2029, including one mobile title, five sports titles, three new core IPs, and 13 games from existing core IPs, with the latter consisting of seven sequels and six remakes, remasters, and platform expansions.
Two of these ‘major new IP’ titles have been listed, namely Judas from Bioshock creator Ken Levine and roguelike hero shooter Project ETHOS. This means another new IP is in development that we don’t know about yet.
The spate of sequels and remakes/remasters/ports, however, has led to speculation as to what the company might be referring to. Remakes of Max Payne 1+2 definitely come under the latter, and Bioshock 4 is likely part of the former. However, it is possible that this alludes to another Mafia remakemore Borderlands games, or even a the sequel to LA Noire.
Remedy hasn’t announced a release date for the Max Payne 1+2 remakes, but with the studio set to launch Control Resonant this year, it makes sense that the remakes would arrive at some point in 2027. This latest financial report confirms it will be sometime after March 2027 at the earliest.
If they are confident about these remakes, it is possible that Rockstar is planning a remaster for 2012’s Max Payne 3 to complete the trilogy. Unlike the previous two entries, Max Payne 3 was developed by Rockstar, without the involvement of Remedy.
Whatever’s in store, it’s sure to be a landmark year for Take-Two Interactive, with GTA 6 coming over 13 years after GTA 5 launched.
