About 20 flights from Montreal to the US have been canceled so far due to a foul smell in the US area of Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
According to Aéroports de Montréal, US Customs and Border Protection temporarily suspended operations due to “a smell from construction materials”.

Some flights bound for the US were cancelled, but efforts are being made to resume operations as soon as possible, the airport authority said in an email.
An inspection by the Montreal Fire Department confirmed that the situation does not pose a health risk and the airport is using increased ventilation in the area.
“We encourage passengers with scheduled flights to US destinations to refer to the information provided by their airline and check the status of their flight before departing for the airport,” an airport authority spokesman said.
