A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in south-east London in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Westow Hill, Crystal Palace, at 3.39am on Sunday by the London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing.
Officers found a 30-year-old man seriously injured, who was treated at the scene and is now in hospital. Metropolitan Police said.
Shortly afterwards, police found another man, believed to be in his 30s, in the Westow Hill area with stab wounds. He then died at the scene.
The man in hospital, whose injuries are described as neither life-threatening nor life-changing, has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Some businesses in the area have said they cannot open due to the road closure and police cordon.
Thai Crystal, a restaurant in Westow Hill, confirmed the subway that they are unable to open due to police investigations.
Local pub Craft and Courage wrote on social media that they are unable to open due to a closed road after the murder.
They added: ‘Serious matter policing Westow Hill. If you fancy a cold pint, Hepcat, or Gravity Well, or a few cans to go, go to Crystal Palace Park market.’
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a fast-paced investigation and residents in Crystal Palace will continue to see a large police presence today as our inquiries continue.”
