Pune rape-murder case: Police send the accused to the crime scene


Mumbai: Days after the shocking Nasrapur rape-murder involving a four-year-old girl, police took 65-year-old senior citizen Bhimrao Kamble to the crime scene amid tight security.

At around midnight, the police took the accused to the cow shed of the village, to the scene of the serious crime, where they reconstructed the sequence of events.

Reconstruction of the crime scene is vital as the accused will appear in court on Thursday (May 7) for an extension of his police custody in a Pune district court.

Meanwhile, another disturbing incident has been reported from the city of Pune, where a 50-year-old man allegedly attempted to sexually assault a 9-year-old girl prompting swift action by vigilant citizens who intervened and averted a major tragedy.

The accused surrendered to the police, but large crowds gathered outside the Parvati Police Station, expressing outrage over the incident.
