Dubai: Drivers visiting Sharjah’s Aljada will now pay to park in selected streets, car parks and retail locations following the launch of a new smart parking system on Wednesday.

Parkin has partnered with developer Arada to introduce ticketless paid parking across the mixed-use community, marking the Dubai-listed company’s first operation in Sharjah.

The system uses automatic license plate recognition technology to register vehicles entering and leaving designated parking areas without requiring drivers to obtain a ticket.
What drivers will pay
Street parking along Eastern Aljada Boulevard will cost Dh6.30 per hour, including VAT, and will operate around the clock.
Designated off-street spaces and parking will cost Dh4.20 per hour, including VAT, from 8am to midnight.
Visitors using retail parking on Boulevard, Tiraz and Misk will get the first two hours free. After the free period ends, a charge of Dh10 per hour will apply.
Residents will maintain the parking spaces allocated according to their Sales and Purchase Agreements or Title Documents. Any additional parking used outside these allocations will be covered by the new paid system.
Season passes will also be available for eligible parking areas and can be managed through Parkin’s digital platform.
Payments without tickets
Visitors can pay through the Parkin’s existing digital payment channels, while license plate recognition will allow the system to identify vehicles without physical tickets or barriers.
The rollout covers selected on-street, off-street and retail parking areas, with the companies saying the system aims to improve the availability and management of spaces across Aljada.
The park enters Sharjah
The deal extends Parkin’s operations beyond the existing public parking network and into another developer-led community in the UAE.
Aljada has developed into a major residential, retail, education and entertainment destination in Sharjah, bringing increasing demand for parking from residents, employees, students and visitors.
The paid parking system came into force on 15 July, with rates, subscriptions and payment information available through the Parkin portal and customer service centre.
