Jasmine Fisherand (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) The dark side has hardly been hidden since she appeared in Albert Square, determined to make her her birth mother and EastEnders legend, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), pay for her abandonment at birth.

Linking to Walford’s supreme uber-busty Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman)she started a vicious and insidious stalking campaign against Zoe, also making an enemy of Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), which caused Cindy to lie in a heap at the foot of Albert’s stairs, behind Jasmine pushed him under them.

Her mission of revenge took a violent turn when she believed Zoe’s life was in danger, having discovered her birth father, Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) attacking her and killing her.

Through it all, the only soft spot she seemed to have was for her boyfriend, Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier), who was completely charmed when he met Jasmine.

A perennial playboy, Oscar shunned his promiscuous past and committed himself to Jasmine, despite her absolute reluctance to open up about anything to him. Pretty toxic, really…

After Jasmine’s role in Anthony’s death was finally exposed, Oscar resigned himself to a life without her and began wallowing in self-pity, self-medicating with a seemingly endless stream of pointless one-night stands and casual partners.

Until we met Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan).

The spark was immediate, the tension was palpable, and it was undeniable that there was something between them.

With Josh having arrived in Walford seeking answers as to how Jasmine managed to kill their birth father and feeling overwhelmed the following meetings with his pseudo-aunts, Kim AND Denise Fox (Tameka Empson AND Diane Parish), he ended up in Albert looking for a distraction.

And the distraction he found in Oscar. Having no idea who the other was, they found themselves kissing and later collapsing on the bed. When they discovered their relationship through Jasmine, and Oscar reunited with her after her release from prison, they decided to keep their night of passion a secret so as not to hurt anyone, but it was clear that their connection was too strong to simply ignore.

As Josh adjusted to life in Walford, his adoptive mum, Sandra (Dawn Steele)who had previously also taken Jasmine inside, let Kat enter for some dark musings about it and the death of her husband.

Sandra told Kat that her husband died after a car crash while driving Jasmine to the pool, making sure the weather was perfectly clear and that the car had no faults. There was absolutely zero subtext to what she was suggesting.

Describing Jasmine as deeply disturbed, with a history of assault, and having previously attempted to sabotage her car, she told Kat how she remembered arriving at the hospital after the accident to see Jasmine, her face completely blank, without even a jolt of emotion after witnessing her father’s death.

Oscar and Josh have since given in to their chemistry, despite their efforts to stay apart, and Josh decides to tell him about the mystery surrounding his father’s untimely death and Jasmine’s possible role in it in tomorrow’s episode.

Terrified, Oscar turns to Jasmine for answers and gets a vicious slap in the mouth for his troubles.

Oscar turns to Josh, who tries to calm him down with a kiss, only for them to be discovered by Kat.

With Jasmine insisting that Oscar attend her birthday party, and Zoe also determined that Josh attend, Kat’s revelation comes after she arrives to invite Josh to the bash.

Absolutely floored, Kat addresses her Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) for advice and both agree to keep quiet for now, so as not to ruin Jasmine’s birthday or Zoe’s joy of celebrating with her children.

Still, now that Kat knows about the matter, it surely won’t be long until someone else does, and if that person is Jasmine, are Oscar and Josh’s lives in danger?
