“Officers identified the man as the same person associated with an ongoing investigation into a suspicious person who may be in possession of a weapon from the previous day,” RCMP noted, adding that the suspect was the subject of an emergency alert.
“During RCMP response, an officer discharged a firearm. The man sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Officers rendered first aid at the scene.”
The RCMP said they have referred the matter to the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT), which investigates all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia.
