A reader explains how a series of console crashes and lost passwords ended up with him experiencing the greatness that is
OK, so I need to put some context on this before I get to the heart of the matter.
Christmaswhen my generous brother-in-law gifted me one.
console for the quality of the titles, so I skipped the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One era with .
However, I own an Xbox Series S with a broken HDMI port, which I’m still debating whether it’s worth the money to fix.
About four years ago, for some reason, I bought one . The whole Facebook the online thing didn’t bother me, i just came up with a pseudo account and started playing, although ironically the day it arrived was the day the servers went down.
4, which is probably the most I’ve ever spent on a downloadable game.
Everything was fine until a year later and the new Meta headphones were coming out and they were doing all kinds of updates to my headphones, which was fine until I realized I couldn’t remember my pseudo account; hence i lost all the games i had downloaded on it.
To be honest, it was a throwaway package, but my youngest daughter enjoyed the fruits of it, so I just gave her a hard factory reset so she could at least play something on it.
Then it happened, one of the controllers broke. I asked CeX how much it would cost to repair or get a new one, I was quoted £80 (same as I’ve been quoted for an HDMI repair on my Xbox S Series).
Then my head turns to the latest PlayStation 4 I’ve been given, which is on par (minus the loading times) with the Xbox Series S.
It has VR capabilities for not much more than the £80 I was quoted for my Meta controller, £95 cost me everything in the end, with the Move controllers and a charger for them too.
It’s an absolutely delightful game that borders on perfection.
They were all coming back with the same answer, that it was completely immersive in VR.
So I bought it and obviously played it, and I have to say wow! I knew what I was letting myself in for of course.
Now most games that I consider to be top tier, I never realize until I’ve finished it and look back and wonder.
However, The Tetris Effect, I realized about 10 minutes in that I was having one of the best gaming moments of my life and how happy I was to watch.
Ocarina Of Time is still my favorite game of all time, but I have to say that Tetris Effect on PlayStation VR is the greatest experience I’ve ever had as a gamer and that takes a lot of territory in itself.
