Bryan Robson has urged Michael Carrick to hit back Manchester UnitedThe decision to leave the ‘absolute best player’ Casemiro leave Old Trafford.
Casemiro announced in January that he would leave the Premier League giants at the end of the season.
the 34-year-old joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022 after ending his nearly ten-year spell with Real Madrid.
Casemiro played over 300 games for the Spanish giants, helping Real to three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues.
Given his success in Madrid, Casemiro’s early form at Old Trafford came as a surprise as the veteran midfielder initially struggled to adapt to the Premier League and looked exposed in a poor United team.

But Casemiro has been one of United’s most consistent players over the past two seasons and former captain Robson believes he should be convinced to stay for at least another season.
“I would encourage Casemiro to stay,” said Red Devils legend Robson BoyleSports. “He’s had a really good season this year.
“He’s a better player. He’s got a great football brain. He’s a very good passer of the ball. He heads the ball well and when he goes in to shoot, he means it.
“You don’t stay at Real Madrid for as many years as he did and win Champions League titles unless you’re an absolute top player and people see what you’re really good at.
So I think next season he can definitely give us a bit more with his experience. He was great in Europe last year too.’
Casemiro has a one-year extension option on his contract, but Manchester United decided not to activate it.
“I will carry Manchester United with me for the rest of my life,” Casemiro said in a statement earlier this year.
“From the first day I walked into this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love I now share with our supporters for this special club.
‘Tis not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to be made over the next four months.
‘We still have much to fight together; My full focus, as always, will remain on giving everything to help our club succeed.
“It’s so special and I’ll always carry this club with me throughout my life. I’ll always be a Manchester United fan, my whole family too.
“In England I’m red, I’m Manchester United to death. So all I want to say is: thank you for everything.
