Residents in the village of Lytton, BC, have been told to be ready to evacuate at short notice as an outdoor wildfire burns nearby.
The BC Wildfire Service says the fire is about three kilometers south of Lytton.

It is estimated to be about one square kilometer in size and is suspected to be man-made.
The fire service says the fire is expected to grow due to hot and dry conditions.

Litton First Nation has also issued an evacuation alert for some of its residents.
The village of Lytton was almost wiped off the map after a devastating fire in June 2021 that killed two people.
