Shivamogga: Power Minister KJ George said that the state government is not in favor of privatization of the power sector.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he said the BJP-led government at the Center had brought in a law to privatize the power sector in 2003.
“Now, they (BJP leaders) are opposing it. But I don’t want to politicize the issue. All the five power supply companies have already opposed giving the responsibility of management to the Tata company. On this issue, the cabinet, headed by chief minister DK Shivakumar, will take a proper decision soon,” he said.
