Irpanar village in Chhattisgarh’s Abujhmad gets electricity for the first time

RAIPUR: Nestled amidst dense forests, high hills and the remote terrain of Abujhmad in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh’s Irpanar village has received electricity for the first time.

Located around 30 km from district headquarters Narayanpur, Irpanar is not easily accessible due to difficult geographical conditions.

The local community and the state-owned power company manually hauled poles and materials through “kutcha” (unpaved) roads, steep climbs and dense forests, showing the effort it took to overcome the last mile of development.

“The electrification process carried out at Irpanar was not a routine technical task. Transporting poles, wires and materials required intensive efforts. Despite the rugged terrain and limited resources, the team completed the line extension, installation of poles and connections within the stipulated time, setting a strong example,” said Namrata Jain, collector of Narayanpur.
