We’ve seen DS Reid a few times since then, as she’s also trying to gather enough evidence to back up Charity’s comments about blackmailing Dr Todd.
Earlier this week, the detective returned to the village with an update. She informed Charity and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) that CPS will be dismissing the case against Dr Todd for lack of evidence.
While that update marked an important turning point in the storyline, it also signaled the beginning of the end for DS Reid.

Viewers know that Dr. Todd won’t be going to jail for her crimes, as a quick sequence aired that confirmed that she will indeed be killed by someone.
All we know now is that Caitlin will end up on the floor in a pool of her own blood.
The list of possible suspects contains names including Charity, Mackenzie and Vanessa, although fans of the show know that Emmerdale often gives plot twists in whodunnits, meaning Todd’s killer. could end up being someone very surprising.
