Dingle Charity (Emma Atkins) took a brave step in her recovery on Emmerdale tonight after being sexually assaulted by Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).
The character has felt extremely overwhelmed these past few days as she tries to process her trauma while dealing with a series of stressful situations that have only been created as a result of everything Charity has been through.
She is currently busy keeping an eye out Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), who tries to control his anger every time he sees Ross Barton (Michael Parr), Leyla’s father.
Because Mack is like a ticking time bomb around Ross at the moment, it increases the risk that Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) will discover the truth about the baby she believes is hers.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Mackenzie wasn’t very focused on his hatred of Rossafter realizing Charity was gone.

The last time this happened, she had taken herself to a lake in the middle of the forest and didn’t know how to deal with the secrets she had been holding. Mack arrived at Vanessa Woodfield’s (Michelle Hardwick) house to inquire about Charity, but received no response that eased his anxiety.
It was discovered that Charity had gone to a women’s support group. She found it somewhat helpful, but later told Vanessa that she felt like an impostor for the fact that none of the women in the room had been assaulted by another female.
Charity headed home after her conversation with Vanessa, and told Mackenzie where he had been.
The pair were interrupted by a phone call from DS Reid. She informed Charity that she will be in the village tomorrow as she has an update on Doctor Todd.
What does DS Reid mean?
And how will it affect Charity’s recovery journey?
