Sir David AND Victoria BeckhamHis ambition to spruce up their picturesque Cotswolds property has had cold water poured on them by the local council.

The famous couple bought the nine-bedroom mansion in the English countryside in 2016 for £6.15m and have since transformed this farmhouse in Great Tew, Chipping Norton, doubling its value.

But despite looking somewhat innocuous on the surface, the plans have been completely shut down by the council.

Planning officer Nathan Harris raised his concern that it would “destroy the character and plain agricultural form” of the property.

He added that although the residence was not listed… the proposal would fail to preserve and enhance the building,’ according to Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the council’s senior conservation and design officer, Bryan Martin, branded the balcony a “non-starter” and pointed out that it would “obscure the threshing gate – a characteristic feature”.

Eventually concluding that there is ‘no obvious way to do something like this’. It is unclear what the Beckhams will try to push the plan forward.
