CM Mohan Yadav’s GAD, House Among Top Five MP Departments With Most Pending Assembly Cases


BHOPAL: Two departments headed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav figure in the top five departments with the highest number of pending Vidhan Sabha related cases, according to official data.

Statistics available with the state’s Parliamentary Affairs Department as of June 22 show that 1,336 Assembly-related cases were pending in various government departments.

Of these, 832 (62 percent) are related to incomplete answers to the Assembly’s questions, 298 (22 percent) are awaiting guarantees made by ministers on the floor of the Chamber, 120 are related to the unimplemented recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and 86 are related to Zero Hour issues.

General Administration Department (GAD) tops the list with 172 pending cases, followed by Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Department (154), Revenue Department (122), Public Health and Medical Education Department (121) and Home Department (115).

Out of these five departments, GAD and Home Department are headed directly by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

In terms of incomplete responses to Assembly questions, DAP again tops the list with 148 pending responses, followed by the Department of Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture (126), the Department of the Interior (83), the Department of Revenue (79) and the Department of Public Health and Medical Education (60).

The Department of Public Health and Medical Education, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, has the highest number of pending ministerial warrants at 46, followed by the Department of Home Affairs (32) and the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, headed by senior minister Prahlad Patel (21).
