Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 6002G-010

  • Lot 144 | Estimate: 2 000 000-4 000 000 CHF

If Ref. 2523 “South America” represents Patek PhilippeThe mid-century working of the Sky Moon Tourbillon shows the manufacture in full and modern complication mode. Ref. 2018. 6002G-010 features 12 complications inside a hand-engraved 18k white gold case, a highly elaborate combination of perpetual calendar, moon phase, chronograph and celestial display.

The front face shows mean solar time along with a perpetual calendar with retrograde date and moon phase, while the back turns the watch into something closer to a miniature observatory, with a celestial chart of the northern sky, sidereal time and moon phase and orbit. This example is one of the few produced with a black enamel dial and, according to Phillipsthe second of its kind to appear at international auction.

With an estimate of CHF 2,000,000-4,000,000, the watch holds the highest sales projection after the Ref. 2523. But where the South American world timepiece draws much of its intrigue from rarity and enamel work, the Sky Moon Tourbillon puts Patek Philippe’s mechanical ambitions fully on display.
