‘3 hours for 15 km’ shows viral video in Bengaluru traffic amid heavy rains

“I didn’t expect this from Bangalore! Yesterday, my friend paid Rs 1,200 to a driver for a 15 km ride. Rs 1,200! You can buy household groceries twice for that amount,” she said in the clip.

The woman said the experience made it impossible for her to “romanticize” the rains, pointing to the traffic jams and high travel fares that come with it.

She suggested that instead of enjoying the rain, commuters often face endless traffic snarls and difficulties booking rides during peak hours and unprecedented weather conditions.

The video, posted by a user named Sanya on Instagram on May 4, has already crossed over 16,000 views online.

It resonated with netizens, with some sharing similar experiences in the comments section.

“Also I was faced with the same 1000 I paid. Some rain in between they asked for the normal price of 250. I have 3 kids so I paid,” commented one user.

Another wrote, “Don’t cry at Auto Wale, consider the time taken.”
