Mars, however, remains in NASA’s sights. The agency hopes to use Artemis as a learning opportunity for what it would take to live off-world. The Artemis missions will focus on gathering scientific data about the Moon and its resources, and eventually, astronauts will build a base there, the design of which NASA revealed on Tuesday. The lunar outpost will provide astronauts with a deep space environment in which to live, work and conduct experiments that could be applied to life on Mars.
