New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh PuriHer daughter has asked the Delhi High Court to remove “false” and “defamatory” social media content linking her to convicted American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Himayani Puri’s case is expected to be heard in the Supreme Court this week.
In her suit seeking Rs 10 crore in damages and an injunction to restrain certain entities from spreading defamatory content, Himayani Puri said there was a “coordinated and malicious online campaign” to link her to Epstein and his crimes.
It also demanded an unconditional apology and retraction from the accused entities.
“Beginning on or about 02/22/2026, a series of false, misleading and defamatory posts, articles, videos and digital materials were published, distributed and promoted on social media and intermediary platforms, including but not limited to X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, digital news portals and other web-based publications,” it said. in the statement.
Himayani Puri claimed that she is an accomplished finance and investment professional who is being targeted only because she is the daughter of Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri.
According to her lawsuit, the defendants spread “baseless imputations” that Himayani Puri had direct or indirect business, financial or personal ties to Epstein.
The allegations are completely false, malicious and without factual basis, the statement said.
