The new Liberal MP could give the party a majority government if he wins two Toronto by-elections on April 13, in which the Liberals are heavily favored. Another by-election, scheduled for the same day in Terrebonne, Quebec, could give the Liberals an extra electoral cushion, but it will be a close race with the Bloc of Quebec.
