Shipowners hope Strait of Hormuz ceasefire could free 800 stranded ships


Hours before the expiration of a deadline set by US President Donald Trump, the two sides agreed on Tuesday to a ceasefire in exchange for the reopening of the strait. Details remain unclear, however: Iran says it has agreed to two weeks of safe passage in coordination with its armed forces and within “technical constraints,” while Trump announced a “FULL, IMMEDIATE, and SECURE OPENING.” It is unclear whether the two have settled with the payments.
