RSS connects with 30 lakh families in Odisha under Gruha Sampark campaign


BHUBANESWAR: As part of RSS centenary celebrations, Sangh swayamsevaks have reached out to around 30 lakh families under the Gruha Sampark campaign in Odisha.

RSS Odisha Purva Prant Sanghachalak Samir Kumar Mohanty said through this campaign, RSS swayamsevaks engaged with the members of the society, explaining the aims and objectives of the Sangh and encouraged their participation in nation building activities. He informed that various programs like Hindu Sammelan, Yuva Sammelan and Samajik Sadbhav meetings have been organized.

These initiatives focused on the concept of Panch Parivartan (fivefold transformation) which includes, Samajik Samarasata (social harmony), Parivar Prabodhan (family awareness), Paryavaran Suraksha (environmental protection), Swa Jagaran (self-awakening) and Nagarik Kartavya (civic responsibility).

In Odisha, Hindu Sammelans were held in 1,398 places, Yuva Sammelans in 73 places and Samajik Sadbhav meetings in 227 places.

The programs witnessed significant public participation across the state, Mohanty said. He said that currently, there are 88,949 daily pranks and 32,606 weekly pranks across the country. In Odisha, 3,041 daily pranks are carried out in 2,516 places along with 580 weekly pranks in 498 places. Seva (service) activities are being conducted in 13,714 raids including 196 in Odisha, he added.

Mohanty said like last year, 96 Sangh training camps are scheduled to be held across the country this year, including three in Odisha. These camps will also be part of the centenary program of the Sangh and the emphasis will be on expanding shakha activities, he added.
