London: The crew of a Qatar liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker was being evacuated after it was struck while sailing along the Omani side of Strait of Hormuz and sustained significant damage, three sources said Tuesday.

The ship, Al Rekayyat, was loaded with LNG and sent out distress signals asking for help after it was hit on its port side, another source said earlier on Tuesday.
