Abu Dhabi/Dubai: The Indian consulate in Dubai has banned foot entry for applicants seeking passport, visa, attestation and other consular services, the mission announced late Monday evening.
There will be no walk-ins at the Consulate, but limited walk-in services will be available from 09:00 to 11:00 at the Embassy premises in Abu Dhabi, it was announced.
This means only those with confirmed appointments booked through the newly launched portal will be allowed to enter the consulate, as the mission moves to improve services following the delay in the launch of Indian Consular Application Centers (ICAC) by Alhind Tours and Travels LLC.
Following an increase in applicants over the past few days, the missions also announced further updates on consular services from their premises.
Appointment release time
The missions said all applicants can book an appointment on the book.passportindiauae.com portal which was launched on Sunday.
The meeting will be released at 20:00 for the following day’s services. Appointments are issued for slots from 9 am to 1 pm, the mission had earlier confirmed to Gulf News.
Applicants who hold a prior appointment will be allowed entry 15 minutes prior to the appointment time.
To avoid crowding, only applicants will be allowed to enter the Embassy and Consulate premises, with the exception of minor applicants where both parents are required to be present.
Entry to the Embassy in Abu Dhabi for application for consular, passport and visa (CPV) services will be through the main gate of the Embassy located on Al Safarat Road, Abu Dhabi.
All questions and clarifications, including those related to the submission of documents, will be addressed to the Consular Wing located in Unit No. 101, 1st Floor, Guardian Tower (Technip Building), Al Ishirah Road, Abu Dhabi.
Entry to the Consulate General of India in Dubai for application for passport, visa and attestation services will be through Gate no. 1.
Preference will be given to newborns and applicants seeking an Emergency Certificate, a one-time travel document issued to those who do not hold a passport.
Follow the instructions
Missions requested applicants to adhere to the guidelines for prompt and smooth service delivery:
Applicants should visit with completed application forms and supporting documents. The passport application form can be filled at mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission/.
Missions urged applicants to read the instructions carefully before filling the form and uploading photographs, signatures and documents.
Passport applicants should also ensure that signatures/thumb impression is uploaded correctly with clear white background.
Applicable fees will be accepted in cash only. Applicants are therefore advised to carry the exact change. Applicants are reminded of the new passport fee structure effective from July 1, 2026.
