The centenarian from Karnataka walks the Alipiri Trail of Tirumala


Hyderabad: For this super centenarian woman from Karnataka, age is just a number before her steadfast dedication.

At 116, Smt Navaneethamma made a successful walk that too walking the 3500 odd steps of the Alipiri trail to reach Universal Supremo Sri Venkateswara Swamy-Tirumala abode on Sunday evening.

premier N Chandrababu Naidu took to social media and said that Smt Navaneethammal proved that faith is beyond age and inspired the hearts of millions with her steadfast devotion.

“Age really is just a number when it comes to pure devotion! Absolutely amazed by this 116-year-old grandmother from Karnataka who walked all the way to Tirumala to have the divine darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. It’s wonderful to see her family supporting her lifelong faith.” Naidu said on social media.

On Monday morning, TTD mandarins, under the instructions of Trust Board Chairman BR Naidu, identified the super woman’s family and secured her lifelong desire for darshan of presiding deity Lord Sri Venkateswara through biometric pass with great family care and warmth.

After the darshan, at the Ranganayakula Mandapam, Vedic scholars offered blessings to Navaneethamma and her family members.
