He further wrote: “In the letter I had also pointed out the difficulty of accommodating 16 police personnel in only three government vehicles. Confining the police personnel in these vehicles does not seem appropriate from a security point of view. I had written to you asking for the allocation of four vehicles as needed, but I did not receive a response. Therefore, I am returning the police personnel along with the vehicles.”
The minister, however, clarified that his decision was not directed against the state government, but was intended to highlight systemic deficiencies.
He said that the prime minister was probably not aware of the matter.
“If I needed a vehicle for myself, I would turn to the prime minister, he would never have refused,” said the minister.
He claimed that his protest was aimed at exposing the lack of coordination and administrative shortcomings between the Police Department and the Finance Department, rather than criticizing the government.
