of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the results of the Foundation of Chartered Accountants (CA) Examination – May 2026 session on Friday, July 3. Along with the results, the Institute has also published the merit list of the candidates with the best performance.
The ICAI CA Foundation May 2026 exam was held from May 14 to 20 at 609 exam centers in India. Candidates who appeared for the exam this year can access their results through the official ICAI result portal, .
According to official data published by ICAI, 90,217 candidates appeared in the exam, of which 18,124 qualified, bringing the overall pass rate to 20.09 percent.
Pass percentage
According to ICAI, 46,798 male candidates appeared for the exam, of which 9,769 qualified, marking a pass percentage of 20.88 percent. Out of 43,419 female candidates, 8,355 passed the exam, bringing the pass rate to 19.24 percent.
Overall, 18,124 of the 90,217 candidates who appeared for the CA Foundation exam qualified, resulting in an overall pass rate of 20.09 percent.
Holders of the highest rank
ICAI has also announced the names of the top three rank holders in the May 2026 CA Foundation exam.
Sakshi Jain of Nashik secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, followed by Ayanabbas Ajani of Chandrapur in AIR 2 and Radha Unmesh Mulay of Pune in AIR 3.

What’s next?
Candidates who have qualified in the CA Foundation examination can now proceed to the next stage of the Chartered Accountancy program by registering for the CA Intermediate course, subject to meeting the eligibility requirements set by ICAI.
The CA Foundation Examination is the entry level examination for students aspiring to become Chartered Accountants and is conducted by ICAI three times a year.
