Marathon effort
The thing that makes me about it Marathon business only for weekends it’s like Bungie has less than zero respect for people’s time. We’ve all been saying that about games for a while now, but the high level of unlocking something you can only play for eight days a month is also crazy to me.
Don’t worry about what to do if you happen to work over the weekend (I often have to come in on a Saturday), but I guess that just makes those who do play it even better, doesn’t it?
As if the ugly graphics didn’t put enough people off, this actually kills everyone I’ve ever tried. I don’t know if the game will be successful or not – it seems to be going well, but not great – but when I play a video game it’s not like it can become a second job for me.

Marketing expenses
Am I the only one who gets constant ads world of warcraftNew expansion, every time I go to YouTube? I have no interest in the game, I’ve never played it or visited a website about it, and I’ve certainly never seen a video in it, but I’m constantly spammed with ads for it.

The weird thing is that I get very few other ads for games, despite it being one of my favorite things. Fortnite it’s about the only other thing I get a lot of, which probably says a lot about how much these companies are spending on advertising compared to everyone else.
I’m a huge Requiem fan and have seen a bunch of videos about it lately, but I’ve never seen a single ad for Resident Evil Requiem. This doesn’t seem to have affected its sales, but I wonder what would have happened if it had appeared everywhere?

Risk and no reward
I’ll be honest, I don’t think I have any sympathy for anyone who pre-ordered Crimson Desert and now he’s regretting it (or, more likely, pretending to anyone who will listen that he’s actually fine). A too-good-to-be-true game from a developer with no experience in the genre, or anything other than an MMO, should send those alarm bells ringing immediately.
If you only have £55 that you can afford to gamble on a game being good based on next to nothing then I don’t think you can really complain about anything. I’ll wait until the game is free… and then spend the money on something else because it sounds terrible.

The only option
I don’t think so PlayStation 5 still beats Switch 2 on sale is quite a surprise. No one will buy one Xbox X/S series at the moment so if you want triple games then PlayStation 5 it’s the only option.
The Switch 2 is a great console, but it won’t be the first choice for anyone but families and hardcore Nintendo the fans. There are still a lot of people, but I think there will always be more desire to play the nicest versions of the latest games.
Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2 looks good, but it’s still not as great as the PlayStation 5 version. But it’s not just the graphics. Nintendo’s online services are still very limited compared to Sony and Microsoft. Who wants to play EA Sports FC on Switch 2? And you still can’t play Call Of Duty, despite all the Xbox talk.
If you’re just a bit into gaming, you can’t settle for just a Switch 2, so your only options are a PlayStation 5 or a PC.

The end of the Pokemon game
He liked it Reader’s Feature about Pokémon Pokopia. I’m what I guess you’d call a lapsed fan and haven’t really been into the series properly since the DS days. I took a chance on Pokopia, after all the good reviews, and I really liked it.
I was almost in tears at the end, especially when I realized there was so much I could still do, and that’s before I even got into the Minecraft stuff or the Animal house style upgrade. Really great game and all the better because it was a surprise. More of this please, Nintendo!

The fashion of the future
Nice Reader feature for what the other main Resident Evil line it should be, though I doubt even Capcom knows yet, as Requiem’s success probably caught them a bit off guard. If the rumors are right, we have Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 1 remakes coming first, so it’s definitely a long way off.
I’m more than ready for those, but Resident Evil 1 again seems like the perfect time for another soft reboot, with Resident Evil 10 following that. As for what it will be, I think there are two main issues: do you change the characters and do you change the game?
Considering how popular Grace seems to be, I think there’s no doubt that Capcom can still make fun new characters without having to rely on the old ones. However, in terms of gameplay, Requiem was really quite traditional and people loved it. Probably a lot more than if it had been open world or co-op or whatever.
So as far as we can predict anything at the moment, I guess you just have to see what’s successful now, before they start making the new game. If people had hated Requiem and wanted something new, then maybe that’s what Capcom would have done, but that’s not the case now.
Games that take longer to make are bad in many ways, but one that I think not many people mention is that you start making them based on current trends and then when you’re done, who knows what will be popular. This probably explains a lot of live service games.

How do they do it?
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate the behind the scenes videos in Resident Evil Requiem. I think I already knew how they did the tech, but it’s really nice to see a fairly long segment broken down like this.
Although I wonder how long until such time-consuming and expensive things are forged with AI because it’s ‘good enough’. It’s crazy to think that 30 years ago this same franchise had tank controls and characters that looked like something out of Minecraft. Happy birthday Resi!

This is me I finished Resident Evil Requiem on all three difficulties. It is safe to say that it is excellent, with amazing graphics, fun gameplay and a perfect tone.
I still can’t help but feel it could have been better. To my surprise, as a big fan of Resident Evil 4my favorite sections of the game were Grace’s. They are really tense and atmospheric, with Rhodes Hill Care Center creating a wonderful environment. Having zombies with personalities works great and I wish they had doubled down on the idea with even more variety.
The second part of the game has more generic and returning enemies from the series, which seem a bit uninspired compared to those of the first part. There’s a lot of fanservice in general towards the end, especially with the bosses, and I would have preferred to see more original ground broken. I’m not convinced we needed to go back to Raccoon City at all, I would have preferred to stay around Rhodes Hill with maybe more establishments/buildings nearby to explore.
It will be really interesting to see what direction they take for the next game. I know they experimented with open world for this and I think this could be the way to reinvent the series again. I can’t wait to see!

PS: My favorites are:
- Resident Evil 4 remake
- Resident Evil 2 remake
- Resident Evil 1 remake
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Resident Evil 7
GC: We think it’s fair to say that most, if not all, of the Resident Evil games are better in the first half than the second.

This business about EU Switch 2 model it made me realize how glad I am that region closure is a thing of the past. What a stupid idea that was.
FOCUSING
Crimson Desert may be a bad game, but I tell you one thing, it made me very eager to play a new The Witcher, just by watching the videos. Hopefully the rumors of new DLC this year are true.
