Canadians spend up to $3,348 this year on government debt interest


“If we’re spending this money on interest costs, that’s money that’s not going toward the programs you care about, like education, health care, pensions, things like that,” he said. “And ultimately we’re basically spending the same amount or more on interest costs than we’re spending on K-to-12 education, for example.”
