Lam Hing Road in Kowloon Bay filled with smoke during the lunchtime rush hour on Wednesday after a stove overheated in a restaurant.

Police told HKFP on Wednesday that eight people were in the building at the time – all were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Smoke from a kitchen stove was thought to have spread rapidly through the ventilation shafts. A dramatic clip on social media appeared to show smoke engulfing the area outside, reducing visibility.
The incident happened around 12:43 in a restaurant on the first floor.
