European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Thursday that Russia’s latest deadly attacks on the Ukrainian capital showed that Moscow “makes a mockery” of international efforts to end the war.
“While Russia openly mocks diplomatic efforts, we continue to strengthen Ukraine,” the EU chief said in a social media post after Russia fired hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that left at least seven dead in Kiev.
Von der Leyen called it one of Russia’s “most ruthless drone attacks”.
