Congress workers in Kerala remove CM’s campaign posters after high command’s directive


Close on his heels Congress leaders from Kerala On Saturday calling on party workers to stop campaigning for them for the post of prime minister, party workers have started removing banners and posters supporting party leaders of their choice.

Congress leaders VD Satheesan, KC Venugopal AND Ramesh Chennithalawho are the main contenders for the post of CM, called on party workers to stop poster campaigns for them. They made the call after a three-hour discussion with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the Leader of the Opposition. Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.

Congress workers sprang into action in many parts of the state, including the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters Indira Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram.

The AICC leadership seems to have expressed strong displeasure over the ongoing campaigns and demonstrations in Kerala for the post of Chief Minister.

Kerala has been witnessing poster campaigns and demonstrations for the past few days, mostly by loyalists of Satheesan and Venugopal. A Congress worker even staged a symbolic ‘Shayana Pradakshinam’ by rolling on the floor at Iritty in Kannur demanding that Satheesan become the Chief Minister.

Apart from open campaigns and social media posts, Congress workers and supporters were also learned to send emails to AICC leaders, including Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, mentioning their choices.
