Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Madrid on Wednesday for talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, sources in his office said.
Zelenskyy will sign agreements and hold a joint press conference with Sanchez during the visit, his fourth to Spain since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the sources said on Monday.
His visits to Spain are part of his efforts to garner diplomatic and military support from Western allies since the outbreak of full-scale war in 2022.
In November, he secured a new military aid package worth 615 million euros from Spain after meeting Sanchez in Madrid.
The US is pushing Kiev and Moscow to agree on an elusive peace deal, but the third round of trilateral talks has been marred by war in the Middle East.
Zelenskyy’s upcoming visit was first announced last week by Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles, although no date was given at the time.
“We cannot forget Ukraine. Ukraine is there, Ukraine exists,” she said.
