Dubai: Bollywood actor-dancer Nora Fatehi on Thursday appeared before the National Commission for Women regarding the controversy surrounding the Hindi version of the song. Sarke Çunarwhich had sparked outrage online for her allegedly lucid lyrics.
Speaking to reporters after the hearing in New Delhi, Fatehi apologized and said he had “no intention to offend anyone”.

“It was just a situation I got into and I didn’t mean to offend anyone. But of course, I have to be responsible as an artist,” she said.
The actor also claimed that she was not involved in the Hindi adaptation of the song and had only shot for the Kannada version.
According to Fatehi, her permission was not obtained before the Hindi version was released.
The Hindi song, uploaded on YouTube on March 15, drew backlash from a section of the public who objected to the lyrics and visuals. Amid mounting criticism on social media, the makers later removed the song from YouTube, though clips of it continued to circulate online.
Even the lyricist, singer and director associated with the song have apologized after the controversy.
Sarke Çunar is part of KD The Devil, a Kannada film dubbed in multiple languages including Hindi.
During her interaction with the media, Fatehi also announced that she plans to sponsor the education of orphan girls, saying she wants to contribute positively to society after the episode.
The NCW has yet to release an official statement detailing the outcome of the hearing.
