Pornhub is set to be made available again to some UK users, more than three months after the site blocked access for most people.
Parent company Aylo blocked access to the porn site in February to all users who had not previously registered and verified their age.
The move was prompted by the Internet Safety Act, which they said visitors were flocking to sites that do not comply with age-control laws.
But on Tuesday Aylo said they would allow it Apple users who had confirmed their age with their iOS system back on the site.
The latest version of iOS – Apple’s operating system – introduces age controls for the UK iPhone users.
The update in March saw UK users required to complete Apple’s age checks.
These verify someone’s age by considering how long they’ve had an account, scanning their ID or using information from associated payment methods.
Pornhub’s owners have argued that device-level controls like this are the most effective way to enforce age restrictions under the Online Safety Act (OSA).
Alex Kekesi, head of community and brand at Aylo, said: “With the release of iOS 26.4 Apple has introduced the world’s first device-based age verification solution to its users in the UK, a huge first step towards a global solution that stands to better protect children everywhere.
“As a result, today Aylo welcomes age-verified iOS users in the UK back to Pornhub.”
OSA has drastically changed the trajectory of the UK’s most popular porn site.
In October, Aylo said the law change had caused traffic to drop by 77 percent.
After the company blocked access for most UK users in February, anyone wanting to visit was met with “sure to”. JOBSContent instead of explicit videos.
A spokesperson for Ofcomwhich implements OSA, said: “We remain in close contact with Aylo and will carefully review these changes.
They added the responsibility to prevent children accessing pornography in the UK ‘comes down hard on sites and apps’.
“Services can implement age checks at the device account level, but they need to be sure they can show Ofcom that their process is very effective and be willing to give us detailed information about this when we ask.”
