3 arrested in connection with theft at Byndoor bus stand in Udupi


Udupi: Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a theft at Byndoor bus stand in Udupi district.

According to the police, on April 27, around 2:45 pm, as Sahana Pai was standing at the bus stop in front of the Byndoor taluk office to board a bus to Dharwad, two women distracted her. At that moment, an unidentified man approached her from behind, who cut the gold bracelet from her right hand with a cutter, pushed her and left the place along with the women.

Based on Sahana Pai’s complaint, a case was registered at Byndoor Police Station. Under the supervision of Kundapur Sub-Division DySP HD Kulkarni, the investigation was led by District Inspector Santosh Kaikini. Police arrested Avinash Sunil Gaikwad (27) of Shastri Nagar, Ambarnath West, Thane, Santoshi Vishal Jadhav (31) and Archana Sushil Jadhav (40) of Ambarnath West, Thane.

The police seized from the accused the stolen gold bracelet weighing 17.27 grams together with the knife used in the crime and a mobile phone.
