On April 23st2026, global pop star Demi Lovato headlined New York’s Madison Square Garden as part of her It’s Not That Deep Tour, where she played to a sold-out crowd.
Act I
As soon as Lovato took the MSG stage, her presence was met with a fierce response. She started her set with the lively “Fast” and proceeded to greet her New York audience.
She immediately exploded on “Kiss” and “Frequency,” where her choreographed routine was reminiscent of Christina Aguilera’s “Dirty” video.
Act II
The second act began with a costume change and a rocking rendition of “Heart Attack,” where everyone was singing along, and segued into “Tell Me You Love Me,” which featured digital pyrotechnics toward the end.
After the smooth, laid-back “Confident,” Lovato continued to address her Big Apple crowd.
“Madison Square Garden,” she shouted. “You sold this! I’m so amazed. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. Welcome to the ‘It’s Not That Deep’ tour. I’m excited to be back here with you all tonight,” she enthused.
“The deluxe version of my album came out ‘It’s Not That Deep (Un Un Want It To Be)’ and I have a new song from it that I want to play for you,” she said, and immediately launched into “Low Rise Jeans,” which was a sultry yet provocative performance.
“New York,” she shouted, and proceeded to sing Lorde’s pure “Fantasy” and closed this part of the show with a remix of “Solo”, sans Clean Bandit, where she was backed by two dancers.
“Give up my dancers,” she said, and allowed each dancer to display their unique and individual talent.
Act III
Lovato kicked off her third act with her power ballad of the night, her inspirational “Skyscraper,” where she nailed the high notes and was able to move her audience on an emotional level with her inspiring, crystalline vocals that were controlled and flawless.
“Thank you very much,” said Lovato, after the warm reception the song received. “It’s so incredible to see so many of you who have been with me since day one. Thank you for sticking by me all this time. I love you!”
Lovato followed up with her infectious radio single “Give Your Heart a Break” and her equally impressive “Say It.”
“What do you say we continue this party?” she asked, and the answer from her fans in NYC was a resounding yes. She was included in the upbeat Little Bit, which was a lot of fun.
“I wrote this song about loving someone so much that you’re terrified of losing it. I wrote it for my husband, who I love so much. He’s here tonight… so baby, this is for you,” and dedicated the power ballad “Ghost” in his honor.
Once again, she was able to fill her listeners with a wide spectrum of raw emotions thanks to her amazing execution and delivery of “Ghost”, thus proving that she is a true songstress.
The lyrics were pure poetry and melodically, “Ghost” had a soulful vibe reminiscent of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work.”
Act IV
After undergoing another costume change (wearing a red outfit), she began her fourth act with the ravishing “Here All Night” and immediately launched into “Joshua Tree,” which felt like a fever dream as she was supported by her female dancers.
“Let’s have some fun,” she said, before noting that she would enlist the help of an audience member to help her choose which album to play it on. “As you know, I’ve had many different periods,” she admitted.
Thankfully, Lovato’s surprise guest was JoJo, and they performed her smash hit “Too Little Too Late,” which was a blast.
“Give it up for JoJo,” Lovato shouted and continued with “Let You Go.”
She went on to give a soaring rendition of the ballad “Stone Cold,” which was quite expressive. After the positive feedback, she noted that she was going to cry. “Thank you very much,” she said.
“I want you all to put the lights on your phones because I want to see your beautiful faces,” she said.
A highlight was when she invited her husband, Jordan “UtahLutes, on stage and they performed a duet of the Goo Goo Dolls’ signature tune “Iris,” which ironically was their first dance song at their wedding. Their duet performance resonated well with everyone, and they shared a kiss at the end.
After a brief water break she launched into “Sorry Not Sorry,” she closed on a fitting and unapologetic note with “Really Don’t Care.”
Encore
For her music, Lovato returned to the hallowed Madison Square Garden stage, wearing sunglasses and serenading her fans with “Sorry to Myself.”
She then kicked off the spring and summer season with the catchy single “Cool for the Summer,” where she left everyone wanting to hear more.
“MSG, thank you so much,” she gushed and reiterated her love and gratitude for all those who have supported her in her musical journey.

Overall, Demi Lovato was able to put on a mesmerizing live show at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” Madison Square Garden, where she was able to take her fans on an emotional journey through her music.
Anyone who has yet to see Lovato perform live is truly missing out… her vocals are angelic and heavenly backed by power and conviction. Most importantly, she was comfortable on stage and her passion for her craft was evident throughout the night.
She proved that she is still at the top of her musical game and a force of nature in her own right. Vocally, Lovato is our generation’s equivalent of Pat Benatar.
There was a rawness and authenticity to this concert, where Lovato sang all of her biggest hits and had the Manhattan crowd with her every step of the way.
She performed in all her musical eras honestly and organically. Her headlining show at MSG received an A. bravo rating.
