Charminar Express stopped in Telangana as smoke billowed from coach wheel, no injuries


Hyderabad: Smoke and sparks billowed from a wheel of a Charminar Express coach, causing the train to stop at a railway station in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of TelanganaSCR officials said on Sunday.

There was no damage or casualties in the incident which occurred due to “brake binding” on April 25, they said.

In a post on ‘X’ on Sunday, South Central Railway (SCR) said, “Train No.12760 Hyderabad – Tambaram Charminar Express which left Hyderabad yesterday ie 25th April 2026 was stopped at ALER railway station of Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway at 19:55 BKEINGRA due to 19:47”.

Smoke and sparks were observed in the steering wheel of the bus, which was immediately extinguished by the railway staff, the announcement said.

The train departed at 8:10 pm for its destination Tambaram, SCR said, adding that there was no damage or casualty.
