A hard hit an orthodox Jew school south of Amsterdam on the night between Friday and Saturdaycausing no injuries, authorities said.
The Cheider school blast adds to a string of attacks targeting Jewish sites in the Netherlands and across Europe this week.
Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema convicted what she called “a cowardly act of aggression against the Jewish community”, stressing that the city “must be a place where Jews can live safely”.
Damage to the building was limited, she added.
Police arrived in the Buitenveldert district south of Amsterdam shortly after the explosion. Authorities described the incident as a targeted attack against the Jewish community and opened an investigation.
Investigators said they were reviewing CCTV footage which showed a person planting an explosive device near the building.
The explosion follows another incident on Friday, when a fire broke out at a synagogue in Rotterdam.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten CALLED that “terrible” incident and also stressed that the country must remain a safe place for the Jewish community.
After the attack in Rotterdam, police increased monitoring of synagogues as a precaution. Dutch police also arrested four people suspected of being involved.
Earlier this week, another explosion hit a synagogue in Liège, in neighboring Belgium. No casualties are reported.
