“This was a case that depended on the trial judge’s assessment of credibility. Included in this important task was the requirement that the trial judge identify and determine admissibility issues and make findings of fact from the evidence properly for consideration. If this exercise is properly completed, the trial judge’s assessment is afforded a high degree of deference by the Court of Appeals,” Roli wrote.
