Reports of a second round of talks between the US and Iran are keeping hopes alive for a resolution to the conflict. Brent crude oil at USD 95 and the decline in spot crude oil prices reflect the market’s belief that the conflict may not last long.
“But if it does, the crude oil price will go up again impacting the equity markets,” said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s benchmark Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index were trading higher, while Shanghai’s SSE Composite index was quoted lower.
US markets ended slightly lower on Monday.
